273 apartments, a community facility and riverside promenade park will be brought forward on the former Northfleet Cement Works site.
Bellway Homes will be delivering 273 apartments within 7 blocks, 4 of which adopt an ‘industrial riverside’ character along the river edge. A 9-storey landmark building will face onto Robins Creek, within the setting of a high-quality riverside promenade park incorporating the King Charles III England Coast Path.
83 of the homes (30%) will be Affordable Housing and will be available in both market rent and shared ownership tenure.
The architectural design of the riverside buildings draws inspiration from historic riverside warehousing whilst blocks to the south of the site reference a contemporary Georgian design narrative, crafting a unique and tailored neighbourhood within the Ebbsfleet Garden City scheme.
The development includes a mixture of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments, all with access to a balcony or terrace. Some homes will additionally benefit from access to communal garden space, a residents’ gym and business lounge. The riverside promenade park will provide new high quality public access to the waterfront and accommodate the route of the King Charles III England Coast Path.
The community facility will be available for residents of Harbour Village and the surrounding community.
The approved housing forms part of the larger development in Harbour Village, comprised of over 500 homes across three phases, whilst the route of the Fastrack bus service running through the site, providing key links between Gravesend Town Centre and Dartford, will see buses operating before the development is complete. The scheme is approximately 4 minutes’ walk from Northfleet train station and 20 minutes’ walk from Ebbsfleet International train station.
