Plans for 138 properties in Ebbsfleet Garden City were tonight given the go-ahead.
The scheme by Bellway Homes will see 138 apartments built in the second phase of Alkerden Village.
The development will contain a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and include 7 affordable rent and 27 shared ownership homes.
The site is located on the Fastrack route, which will provide a dedicated public transport corridor connecting Bluewater to Ebbsfleet Central, and within easy walking distance of schools, shops, community facilities and open space.
Mark Pullin, Chief Planning Officer with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, said: “The development will provide for an attractive frontage along Fastrack and be accompanied by landscaping, a pocket park and children’s play equipment. The apartments have been designed to ensure good levels of internal space, accessibility and private outdoor space including large balconies to the upper storey’s and terraces at ground floor. The homes will be located in a sustainable location at the heart of Eastern Quarry and will contribute to the ongoing development of the Garden City.
Eventually there will be around 1,500 homes in Alkerden Village.
Last month, Bellway Homes was also given planning approval for 121 homes on another site in the Garden City. This was for the first phase of their mixed-use Harbour Village scheme in Northfleet Embankment West.
