The 5,000th home reflects the rapid growth of a vibrant new community, with thousands of residents now contributing to local life – from families and first-time buyers to key workers and long-term locals choosing to make Ebbsfleet their home. It also demonstrates the continued investment being made in infrastructure, public transport, parks and open spaces that underpin the Corporation’s commitment to sustainable and thriving neighbourhoods.

To mark the milestone, EDC welcomed a visit from the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government and the Minister of State for Housing and Planning, who joined development partners to tour Ebbsfleet and key projects that are being delivered at pace within the community.

The Secretary of State and Minister also saw how high-quality sustainable transport links play a vital role in creating a sustainable, well-connected and thriving community. They also heard how the ambitious plans for Ebbsfleet Central, strategically located around Ebbsfleet International train station, will provide thousands of new homes and serve as the civic and commercial heart of Ebbsfleet Garden City, combining modern employment buildings with sustainable urban living.

Located just 17 minutes from central London via Ebbsfleet International, Ebbsfleet Garden City continues to attract residents who value both connectivity and community. With ongoing investment in transport, infrastructure and public amenities, Ebbsfleet is set to become a model for modern urban living.

The delivery of the 5,000th home is a significant moment – not just for the Corporation, but for the thousands of people now calling Ebbsfleet home” said Ian Piper, Chief Executive of Ebbsfleet Development Corporation. “It reflects a decade of ambition, collaboration with developers and partners, and commitment to building a place where people can live, work and thrive.”
