Shepherd Neame confirms its commitment to Ebbsfleet Garden City

Shepherd Neame, one of Britain’s oldest brewers, has reaffirmed its commitment to Ebbsfleet Garden City.

It has said it still wants to set up a stylish pub and hotel in Castle Hill.

Shepherd Neame’s Property and Services Director George Barnes said: “We can confirm that we remain committed to developing the site in Castle Hill as part of our ongoing programme of investment in Shepherd Neame’s pub and hotel estate.

“The Chalk Yard will be a stylish pub with rooms at the heart of the Ebbsfleet Garden City development. The impact of the pandemic has resulted in delays to the project, but we hope to break ground in the next 12 months.”

The pub and hotel will  be called The Chalk Yard, a name based on the area’s mining history and the unique landscape it left behind.
