More than £60,000 towards community initiatives

Over the last 3 years, Ebbsfleet Development Corporation has provided grants of more than £60,000 to local groups, based in and around the Garden City, to enable them to provide activities and establish clubs for new residents.

The corporation adapted its Community Investment Fund during the pandemic to enable groups to take their activities on-line.

Among those receiving funding were:

A  local yoga and pilates group for the purchase of new equipment to support classes Castle Hill;

Eastgate Church in Springhead Park to put on an illuminated Christmas Trail around Springhead Park in Northfleet, themed around the five days of Christmas;

Istead Rise Netball teams received a grant to purchase new equipment, cover venue hire costs and get a member of the team trained up as a coach.60“We have provided small grants to local groups to enable them to start activities for the communities across the Garden City.  An important part of moving to a new area is meeting people.  Activities such as sport and exercise or community based groups are a great way to do this.  Our job at the Corporation is to help the new community develop and grow and to make this a great place to live.”
