Cultural Development Manager

About the role:

The role of Cultural Development Manager is an exciting position within the Placemaking Team at Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC). The role will manage the next phase of delivery of our Cultural and Creativity programme for Ebbsfleet, one of the largest and most ambitious developments in England. Ebbsfleet is being delivered to ‘garden city’ principles and is the largest of the ten ‘Healthy New Town’ pilot locations identified by NHS England with a focus on creative health. The role will work collaboratively with new and existing residents, across EDC teams and externally between the Corporation and stakeholders in North Kent and beyond. We are seeking a passionate individual to support the delivery of a best practice development which reflects local needs and aspirations, building capacity to ensure we achieve a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable Ebbsfleet for the future.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A proven track record of leading and delivering cultural placemaking projects, programmes and initiatives within a development or regeneration context.
  • Considerable experience in leading, managing and evaluating community-led or co-created community, cultural and creative projects and initiatives.
  • A proven track record in cultural strategy, heritage and policy development.
  • A track record of successful fundraising and bid writing.
  • A strong understanding of how culture and creativity can contribute to sustainable development, the economy, health and wellbeing, community cohesion and place identity.
  • Considerable experience of cross-sector collaborative working.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.
  • Excellent project and budget management, planning and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team.
  • A relevant degree level qualification with a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role. Candidates without a degree level qualification but with considerable additional experience in a similar or relevant role will be considered.

Salary: c.£57,000 per annum
Hours: Permanent, Full Time
Location: The Observatory, Castle Hill

The Corporation operates a hybrid working arrangement whereby staff mix working from home and the office.
